Reddib Auction Listing Tips:
A descriptive image of actual items being sold will protects you. If you decided to use an original stock photo, please make a note.
Specify and describe any discrepancies from items in your auction's pictures.
Specify what is included and what is not included on your listed items. Make a note about any NOT included accessessory, or note "anything not listed is excluded".
Use detailed descriptions. Note if the listed article is used and its condition. Make notes about everything, like for example, scratches, or accidents, or if it is refurbished. Describe its working condition or if it is "untested".
Understand there are some PEOPLE LOOKING FOR STEALS. Some unscrupulous people want unreasonable deals and will do everything possible to get them. Even those that sell the exact same items and KNOW the true cost/price may abuse you if your listing can be in anyway construed differently. If you offer an item that comes in a variety of 75 different colors... YES you guessed it, they will think all 75 are included for the same low price. Some people have zero business ethics. Most new buyers are especially a challenge.
Think twice before offering cheaper shipping, is not worth the risk of bad feedback. Sometimes quick and reliable item delivery is more important than saving a few bucks. Only offer it as an alternative and not as the default.
Consider carefully if offering "as is" items is worth risking your seller reputation.
Consider carefully if offering "designer -types' is worth it.
Leave feedback only after it is given to you before, cover yourself with policies and if you get a bad feedback... DO NOT UNPUBLISH YOUR LISTING. Tell your side of the story. Edit your listing and, in the most positive terms possible, try to explain again what you are selling. Then terminate the listing if you want. It could just be one person's opinion of your item and the fact they want something for nothing. People will search for your listings with negative feedback. make sure anything left reflects favorably on you. You can also reply to feedback left.
Be a good seller. Replace any damaged product, that will reinforce your integrity and reputation. Learn from your mistakes.
Be a smart seller. Calm down when you get an upset buyer. It could happen. Watch your tone. This is a business transaction. Do not turn it personal.
Only offer services that makes sense to you and, please, calculate your time and take it into consideration.
If you need to, retract any bid where its bidder ask to many out of context questions if you do not feel comfortable about dealing with such a person. Bad sales are time consuming. Try to set up clear and descriptive ad.
As a best practice do check the buyer's reputation before entering in any final negotiation, and retract any bid from him/her if needed. Protect yourself and your reputation.
